Despite the negative reviews you may have read about the UP970, as long as you have the latest firmware update it works absolutely perfectly and runs absolutely silently when playing any kind of Blu-ray disc. I have 2 now (neither have been opened and modified): one in the bedroom says it all about its quiet operation. At £139 compared to the identical UBK90 they are now incredible value!
